507 students were formally admitted into Ikirun College of Health Technology during its second matriculation ceremony on Thursday. The event took place at the college's premises on Jaleoyemi Street, behind Omobolanle Filling Station in Ikirun, Osun State. The institution, established in 2021, described the occasion as a significant step in its development. The Rector, Dr. Adetunji Oladipupo, urged new students to uphold discipline and academic integrity. He assured them that the college was committed to producing skilled health professionals. Academic activities at the institution commenced in the 2022/2023 session. The college is one of several tertiary health institutions recently established by the Osun State government.

The rector's emphasis on discipline suggests concerns about student conduct may already be shaping campus culture. With the college barely past its third academic session, the focus on rules over resources or infrastructure reveals priorities at this early stage. For Osun residents, the expansion of health training institutions means more access to local education options. Whether these graduates will eventually ease healthcare worker shortages depends on retention and employment policies after graduation.
