Governor Hyacinth Iormen Alia of Benue State led a strong delegation to the APC national convention in Abuja, where party structures were elected ahead of the 2027 general elections. His presence underscored Benue's firm backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was re-nominated unopposed as the party's presidential candidate. Alia praised his delegates for their loyalty, stating that success is a collective effort and no individual achieves greatness alone. He urged party members to remain undeterred by opposition, quoting scripture to emphasize that human threats cannot alter divine destiny.

Alia credited his political strength to the support of Benue citizens and delegates, who he said have guided his understanding of democracy. Delegates from the state lauded his leadership, attributing their unity to his vision of a "New Benue Renaissance" and pledged to defend his agenda against opposition tactics. They affirmed their commitment to vote massively for him in 2027 to expand his developmental projects. Benjamin Omale was formally adopted as the new Benue State APC chairman, a move seconded by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who confirmed the convention's compliance with party and electoral guidelines.

Alia described the APC as a party with disciplined structures aligned with INEC regulations, equipped with committees to enforce order regardless of status.
