The arrest of the tipper truck driver is a welcome development, but it raises questions about the enforcement of traffic regulations in Ondo State. The Police Command's assurance that justice will be served is reassuring, but it is the implementation of measures to prevent such accidents that will truly make a difference. The state government must also take responsibility for ensuring that all vehicles, including tipper trucks, are properly registered and maintained. The incident highlights the need for increased vigilance on the part of motorists and authorities to prevent avoidable tragedies on Ondo State's roads.
