President Bola Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Thursday evening following a visit to Jos, where he met with families affected by the recent violence in Angwan Rukuba, Plateau State. His aircraft landed at the Presidential Wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport at approximately 7:20 p.m. He was received by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, senior government officials, and dignitaries. During his stop in Plateau, Tinubu held discussions with bereaved families, former governors, traditional rulers, and security officials. He ordered security agencies to apprehend those responsible for the killings, stating, "The perpetrators must be brought to justice," and reaffirmed the government's commitment to restoring peace.
While in Lagos, Tinubu is scheduled to inaugurate several infrastructure projects, including the Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information System Building, and a Multi-Agency Complex named after him. A newly completed school complex will also be commissioned. Presidential Spokesperson Bayo Onanuga confirmed that Tinubu will travel to Ogun State on Saturday to commission the Gateway International Cargo Airport, two export-import aircraft, and the new headquarters of the Federal Operations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service. A fleet of operational vehicles will also be unveiled to boost customs efficiency. Tinubu will return to Lagos to observe Easter before proceeding to Bayelsa on April 10 to inaugurate more projects under Governor Douye Diri's administration.
