The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has re-elected its National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, and other members of the National Working Committee (NWC) through a consensus arrangement.
The consensus was adopted by the party at its national convention, which was attended by over 2,000 delegates from across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The convention was convened by a faction of the party loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Newly elected members of the NWC include Samuel Anyanwu as national secretary, Aaron Chukwuemeka as deputy national chairman (South), Yusuf Akirikwen as deputy national chairman (North), and Kolawale Olabisi as deputy national secretary. Other key positions filled include Opeyemi Oladiran as national treasurer and Lado Marke as deputy national treasurer.
The re-elected NWC members are expected to steer the party's affairs for the next four years. Their election via consensus reflects a united front among stakeholders, aimed at fostering cohesion within the PDP.
