Amotekun Rescues 5 Kidnap Victims in Ondo
The Amotekun Corps in Ondo State has successfully rescued five individuals who were kidnapped in separate operations in the Akure South Local Government Area. The victims, comprising three health workers and two other citizens, were rescued in the early hours of Saturday. According to eyewitnesses, the kidnappers stormed a health center in Oke-Ijebu, Akure metropolis, and forcefully took the health workers away in a large bus. The Amotekun Corps Commander, Mr. Adetunji Adeleye, confirmed the rescue, stating that the health workers were freed at about 4:30 am and are currently receiving treatment at the Amotekun health facility.
The rescue operation also involved the Rapid Response Squad of the Amotekun Corps, which apprehended a 45-year-old man and his 15-year-old son who were abducted in Pelebe, on the outskirts of Oda Road, Akure. The victims were rescued at about 1 am following a confrontation with the kidnappers. Mr. Adeleye assured residents that the safety of lives and property remains a top priority for the state government, and urged the public to continue providing timely and accurate information to security agencies.
