Bandits stormed Dangoro village in Zamfara State on Sunday night, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. The attackers, armed with AK-47 rifles, shot sporadically and set houses and grain silos ablaze, forcing many residents to flee to nearby Nahuche town for safety.
According to eyewitnesses, a nine-month pregnant woman was among those affected, and several others sustained injuries. The exact number of abducted persons remains unclear, although victims claim most of those taken were women. The attackers threatened to return, leaving the community in a state of fear.
The Zamfara State Police Command confirmed the attack, stating that it occurred on March 28, 2026, at around 10:30 pm. A joint team of police operatives and vigilante members responded to the scene, engaging the attackers in a gun duel and successfully repelling the attack.

Five persons sustained gunshot injuries, while four others suffered varying degrees of burn injuries. All the injured victims have been evacuated to the Federal Medical Centre in Gusau for treatment.
