He made the declaration on Monday after a stakeholders' meeting in Birnin Kebbi, attended by key political figures from the state. Idris stated that the meeting focused on internal party matters and affirmed the commitment of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi. "By God's grace, APC has come to stay in Kebbi. The people of Kebbi believe in APC, and In-Sha-Allah, they will deliver APC at both state and national levels," he said.

The gathering included prominent APC members such as Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Atiku Bagudu, Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs Yusuf Tanko-Sununu, former senator Adamu Aliero, APC national organising secretary Suleiman Argungu, and Bala Ibn Na'Allah. Idris confirmed that a detailed resolution from the meeting would be shared by the Commissioner for Information.

Governor Nasir Idris is positioning himself as a key political enforcer for President Tinubu in northwest Nigeria. His public vow to deliver Kebbi in 2027 signals an early consolidation of power within the APC at the state level. For Nigerians, this underscores how state governors are increasingly central to shaping the presidential succession narrative. Political loyalty is being framed as electoral certainty, long before voters have a say.
