The Indianapolis-Marion City-County has issued a proclamation in honour of Nigeria's Kegites Club, a socio-cultural organisation. The county acknowledged the organisation's contributions to cultural preservation, community development, and unity within the diaspora.
A proclamation was signed by Vop Osili, a respected Democratic leader in Indianapolis, and Yulonda Winfield, clerk of the Indianapolis-Marion city county. The county presented an official Proclamation of Recognition to the Universal Archaivar Elders and the Americana Archaivar Plus Convergence.
Vop Osili, a member of the council, joined the club and was made a patron. He was joined by a 79-year-old grandmother, Mrs. Adediwura Faturoti, and five others. The event brought together distinguished elders, fellows, dignitaries, and members of the Nigerian diaspora.
The proclamation was made at the crest unveiling ceremony of the club's upcoming world gyration on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. The event celebrated the timeless values of the Kegites Club: peace, respect, and brotherhood.
