Alhaji Bemekun Rasheed Adekunle, Chief Executive Officer of Hamdalillahi Travels Limited, has called for stronger global cooperation to improve Umrah and Ziyarah pilgrimage services. His appeal came at the conclusion of the 2026 Umrah and Ziyarah Forum held in Madinah. Adekunle stressed the need for innovation and capacity building among tour operators to enhance the experience of Nigerian pilgrims. He noted that consistent training, adherence to international standards, and partnerships with foreign regulatory bodies could reduce travel challenges. "The quality of service we deliver reflects not just on our companies but on Nigeria's reputation in the global Islamic community," Adekunle said. He urged Nigerian operators to adopt digital tools for better logistics and communication during pilgrimages.
Alhaji Bemekun Rasheed Adekunle is acknowledging what many Nigerian pilgrims already endure—spotty services, poor coordination, and inconsistent oversight. His push for global standards exposes the current shortfall in Nigeria's pilgrimage industry, where operators often function without uniform regulation. If nothing changes, pilgrims will keep paying premium fees for substandard experiences. Rhetoric at international forums won't fix that—only enforceable local reforms will.
