The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has launched a mobile app called CLHEEAN to bridge the communication gap between the Federal Government and Nigerians. The app, which is powered by artificial intelligence (AI), aims to provide citizens with real-time information and engagement tools, and to facilitate citizen feedback. This initiative is part of the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu, which focuses on inclusive governance, transparency, and accountability.
The CLHEEAN app features civic education, real-time information, and engagement tools that are directly accessible to citizens. It also includes a multilingual capability, with support for Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo languages, and plans to add more Nigerian languages in the future. The app is designed to bring government closer to the people and to ensure that citizens have a voice in the decision-making process.
The Director-General of NOA, Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu, expressed optimism that the new digital approach would enhance citizen engagement and promote national values. He urged Nigerians to download the app and participate in the process of governance by sharing their feedback and opinions.
The NOA has also developed other platforms to reach different segments of society, including a WhatsApp group for radio stations and a platform for people in rural areas. However, it is unclear how these platforms will complement the CLHEEAN app.
The app is available for download on both Android and IOS devices, and it is expected to play a vital role in improving the functionality, performance, and user experience of the NOA's communication efforts.
The CLHEEAN app represents a significant step towards increasing transparency and accountability in governance. By providing citizens with real-time information and engagement tools, the app has the potential to empower citizens and promote a more informed and responsive government. However, the success of the app will depend on its ability to reach a wide audience and to effectively facilitate citizen feedback and participation.
