Mr Obasa congratulated Christians on the 2026 Easter celebration, describing the occasion as a symbol of renewal and victory over hardship. He encouraged citizens to draw strength from the resurrection and to practice love and tolerance. Lagosians were also urged to show compassion, with Obasa stating that collective action would help build a stronger state and nation.
Mudashiru Obasa framing national recovery through religious metaphor does not address policy gaps behind Nigeria's economic and security struggles. Invoking Christ's resurrection may comfort believers, but it offers no roadmap for tackling inflation or banditry. For Nigerians, this kind of messaging risks substituting spiritual reassurance for concrete action.
