Sabo Muhammad Nakudu, former senator for Jigawa Central, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He registered with the party in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State, shortly after resigning from the All Progressives Congress (APC). Nakudu cited the need for a more inclusive political environment and stronger internal party democracy as key reasons for his defection. He stated that the ADC aligns with his vision for grassroots development and offers a viable alternative for the state's future.

Nakudu confirmed his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election under the ADC platform. He described the decision to join the party as the result of extensive consultation and careful planning. "Our decision follows extensive consultation and careful consideration. We are convinced that the ADC offers a credible platform to realise our vision for a better Jigawa," he said.
