About 250 graduates of the Dental Nursing Department at the Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE), formerly the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Enugu, remain stranded without National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilisation despite graduating as far back as 2020. The university has not facilitated their registration on the NYSC portal, leaving them unable to secure employment. Students say they completed all academic requirements, paid all fees, and fulfilled internship obligations.
Uche Nnamani, a 2021 graduate, said the institution promised JAMB regularisation necessary for NYSC participation, which was never completed. He claimed the school administration ignored petitions and only responded to protests, such as the one held in February 2026. Elder Peter Ukwueze, father of one of the affected graduates, died in late 2025 still hoping to see his son mobilised. He had expressed deep concern over the delay, fearing it invalidated his son's education in the eyes of relatives who contributed to his training.
The failure of FUAHSE to regularise its Dental Nursing programme with JAMB has directly blocked graduates from NYSC and employment. Until this is resolved, students who completed all institutional requirements will continue to face wasted years and lost opportunities.
