The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has urged the Federal High Court in Abuja to permanently transfer ownership of 57 properties allegedly connected to former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), to the Federal Government. On Thursday, the anti-graft agency filed a motion on notice seeking final forfeiture of the assets, which it claims were acquired through illicit means. The properties, located across Abuja and Lagos, include residential and commercial buildings, land parcels, and corporate interests. The EFCC submitted that the assets were traced to Malami during an investigation into financial crimes, though no criminal charges have been filed against him. The court has yet to schedule a date for hearing on the motion.
