Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, called on Nigerians to maintain hope and lawfulness as the country marked Easter. In his message issued late Sunday in Abuja and signed by his media adviser Abimbola Tooki, he framed Easter as a season of reflection on sacrifice, resilience, and national unity. Yilwatda linked the Christian observance to Nigeria's struggles, urging citizens to draw strength from the resurrection story amid insecurity, banditry, and kidnapping. He praised President Bola Tinubu's efforts to stabilise the country and urged cooperation across government, security agencies, and communities to restore peace.
Yilwatda also called for prayer for leaders and security personnel, describing Easter as a time to seek healing, peace, and renewal for Nigeria.
Yilwatda's insistence on unity and prayer sounds like a plea to a nation exhausted by insecurity, not a call to action. His nod to Tinubu's interventions reads more like political alignment than a concrete plan to end banditry or kidnapping.
