Eight Kano lawmakers have switched allegiance from the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC. The defection announcement was made by the lawmakers at the National Assembly on Tuesday.
The lawmakers who made the switch are Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe, Garba Ibrahim Diso, Hassan Shehu Hussain, Idris Dankawu, Muhamamad Chiroma Nalaraba, Rabiu Yusuf, Ghali Mustapha Tijjani, and Muhammad Bello Shehu.
Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, a former governor Abdullahi Ganduje, and other dignitaries witnessed the defection ceremony.
Governor Yusuf had previously defected from the NNPP to the APC, while his former ally Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso recently moved to the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
