Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central at the National Assembly, has extended an olive branch to members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) during the party's leadership crisis.

The appeal was made on Saturday during the inauguration of the PDP National Convention Committee in Abuja. Natasha cited the party's decline in Senate representation from 37 to 6 senators as a turning point for PDP.

She believes that the party's experience, institutional memory, and commitment to building a better Nigeria are essential in its effort to rebuild and reclaim its rightful position in national affairs.

Natasha urged the defectors to return to the party, saying, "It's not greener on the other side. You're welcome back to PDP."

The Chairman of the Convention Committee, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, described the event as a moment of truth, acknowledging internal challenges and legal battles. He emphasized the need for honest reconciliation, rooted in truth, driven by sincerity, and sustained by mutual respect.

The committee's mission is to deliver a smooth, transparent convention, producing a credible National Working Committee to reposition PDP for 2027 victory.
