The Joint Task Force in the North East, Operation HADIN KAI, has foiled a Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorist attempt to abduct over 150 passengers from 17 vehicles on the Buratai-Kamuya axis in Borno State.

The troops, under Sector 2, were escorting civilians when they came under attack. They swiftly engaged the insurgents, forcing them to abandon the abducted civilians and vehicles.

The troops then pursued the terrorists into the Mangari area, where they encountered an improvised explosive device. Five personnel were injured during the pursuit but were promptly evacuated for medical care.

The rescued civilians, estimated to be over 150, were safely recovered and moved to Buratai for reunification with their families.

The successful operation highlights the effectiveness of the Operation HADIN KAI forces in the North East.
