Troops from the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have arrested a 15-year-old boy identified as Tijjani in connection with the attack that led to the death of General Oseni Braimah, another officer, and two soldiers in Borno state. The attack occurred on Thursday when suspected Boko Haram terrorists targeted military bases in Benisheik and Ngamdu. General Braimah was the Commander of the 29 Task Force Brigade under OPHK. Tijjani was captured on Sunday in Ngamdu while allegedly on a mission to purchase food and logistics for the terrorist group. In a video confession, he stated he was sent from Jilli with N850,000 to collect supplies. Speaking in Hausa, Tijjani admitted being part of the group that launched the Thursday attack. He said he left other fighters in Jilli on Saturday and does not know their current status. The military has not confirmed whether the other suspects have been apprehended or remain at large.
