Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has urged residents to refrain from supporting Boko Haram insurgents in any form. His statement followed recent airstrikes carried out by the Air Component of the Joint Task Force (North East), under Operation Hadin Kai, in the Jilli general area of Gubio Local Government Area. Zulum confirmed that the military operation targeted insurgent hideouts and logistics hubs in the region. He emphasized that the Jilli market, often cited as a meeting point for insurgents, had been officially closed for five years and should not be used for any unauthorized activities. The governor reiterated that any person found facilitating terrorist operations would face legal consequences. Security forces have intensified operations in the area to disrupt insurgent networks and restore stability. Zulum called on community leaders to assist in identifying suspicious movements and to support lawful security efforts. The state government remains committed to ensuring the safety of civilians while eliminating threats posed by armed groups in the region.
