President Bola Tinubu visited Ogun State on Tuesday, where he commissioned the state's newly completed airport in Ilishan-Remo. The facility, part of Ogun's broader infrastructure push, is now operational and set to begin scheduled flights. Tinubu also inaugurated Gateway Air, a state-owned airline launched in partnership with ValueJet, a private Nigerian carrier. Two newly acquired aircraft under Gateway Air were officially commissioned during the event, marking the launch of the airline's operations. Governor Dapo Abiodun confirmed the aircraft would be managed by ValueJet under a lease agreement while operating under the Gateway Air brand. The project is expected to boost regional connectivity and ease transportation pressures in the state. No federal funding was cited in the project's development.
