Vice-President Kashim Shettima on Monday paid a condolence visit to former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai following the de.ath of his mother, Hajiya Fatima Umma The late matriarch reportedly passed away on March 27 in Cairo, Egypt, at the age of 96. During the visit to the family's residence in Abuja, Shettima urged Nigerians to prioritise unity and work together beyond political differences. He also offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the deceased. The vice president was received by notable figures, including former Bauchi State governor Ahmad Muazu and former Chief of Army Staff, retired General Abdurrahman Dambazau, among others.
