The South-East region of Nigeria is on the path to brighter political prospects under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), according to Dr. MacDonald Ebere, a former Chairman of the APC in Imo State. Ebere, who also serves as the Board Chairman of the Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology in Lagos, attributed this positive development to the internal cohesion among APC members and the party's well-articulated manifesto. He noted that the APC government, under President Tinubu, has been instrumental in transforming Imo State and the entire South-East region.

The former APC Chairman praised Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State for his leadership role in the APC, saying that the governor has successfully secured the state and the South-East region under the APC fold. Ebere also commended Governor Uzodinma for his chairmanship of the Progressive Governors' Forum, which he believes has strengthened the APC's position in the region.

Ebere expressed confidence in the APC's chances in the next year's general elections, citing the party's improved performance and the governorship elections in some South-East states. He said that the APC now has a strong presence at the grassroots level in Imo State, with the party controlling 305 wards and 27 local government areas.

The former APC Chairman also emphasized that the APC has secured the future of the Igbo people, stating that the party has become the voice of the people in the region. Ebere's comments were made during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

The APC national convention, which Ebere attended, is expected to further solidify the party's position in the South-East region.

The APC's grip on the South-East region is a significant development for Nigeria's politics, particularly given the region's historical ties with the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The APC's improved performance in the region could be a game-changer in the next year's general elections, as the party seeks to consolidate its power. The key to the APC's success lies in the leadership of Governor Hope Uzodinma, who has successfully navigated the party's challenges and secured the region's loyalty.
