Sallah: FRSC urges patience over Gwagwalada bridge traffic
**Eid Sallah: FRSC Begs for Patience at Gwagwalada Bridge**
As Eid Sallah draws near, road users in Abuja are bracing up for heavy traffic on major highways. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued a warning to motorists and travelers using the Gwagwalada corridor, urging them to be patient and cooperative.
The congestion, which is causing gridlocks on the busy road, is due to the ongoing construction work and the removal of temporary steel barriers on the Gwagwalada Bridge. According to the FRSC, this has led to a significant build-up of traffic along the corridor.
Assistant Corps Marshal Felicia Kalu, the Acting Corps Public Education Officer, has appealed to road users to remain calm and cooperate with FRSC personnel and other security agencies managing the traffic.
"We understand that the Eid Sallah season brings a surge in vehicular movement, but we urge motorists to exercise patience, follow traffic control directives, and drive responsibly," she said.
Kalu also warned motorists against reckless driving, such as dangerous overtaking and failure to maintain lane discipline. "As we approach Eid Sallah, it's essential that we prioritize road safety and prevent avoidable accidents," she emphasized.
The FRSC has deployed personnel to manage the traffic and ensure that road users comply with traffic control directives. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys properly, drive safely, and approach construction zones with caution.
For Nigerians planning to travel to or from Abuja during Eid Sallah, this is a crucial message to note. With the heavy traffic expected on major highways, patience and cooperation will be essential in ensuring a safe and smooth journey for all.
