Real Madrid, PSG, Arsenal advance as Bodo/Glimt fairytale run ends
Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal navigated their round of 16 second leg encounters to advance into the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
The trio if UCL favourites ensured there was no surprise on the night, with PSG silencing Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford Bridge for an 8-2 aggregate score, while Real Madrid also hit a late winner to defeat ten-man Manchester City 2-1 draw for a 5-1 aggregate win.
Arsenal, on the other hand, defeated Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 in London thanks to goals from Eberechi Eze and Declan Rice in each half.

Chelsea were dreaming of a comeback against UCL champions PSG, but a leaky defence handed PSG a two-goal lead in the first half though Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Bradley Barcola, while Senny Mayulu completed scoring.
It was similar tale in Manchester, where ten men City were fought valiantly but ultimately succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the 15-time UCL winners Real Madrid who have sent the Cityzens crashing out of the UCL for the third consecutive season. Vinicius Jr. scored both goals, giving Madrid the lead via a penalty and securing victory in the dying minutes with a tap-in. Erling Haaland’s brought the home side level, and Pep Guardiola’s men laid siege on Real’s defence despite the man disadvantage, but to no avail.
Sporting Lisbon was the only team to successful stage a comeback on the night, with a 5-0 win over Bodo/Glimt after extra time securing a 5-3 aggregate victory, and a quarter final berth where they face Arsenal.
