The Plateau State Association USA, Inc. (PSA-USA) has condemned the recent wave of killings in Plateau State, terming the violence unacceptable and demanding urgent action. In a statement released on Friday and shared in Abuja, the group's National President, Dr. Barth Shepkong, said the recurring attacks expose critical failures in security prevention and response. "The continued loss of innocent lives under recurring circumstances underscores the urgent need for more proactive, coordinated, and effective security measures," Shepkong said. The group called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government to intervene swiftly, stressing that protecting lives is the government's primary duty. PSA-USA urged the prosecution of perpetrators and reiterated its long-standing demand for state police as part of broader security reform. "The current security structure is no longer sufficient to address localised and evolving threats," the statement read. Religious leaders, traditional rulers, lawmakers, and security agencies in Plateau were also urged to take collective responsibility. The association warned that delayed responses risk deepening public distrust and endangering more communities.
