The friend fell ill in school and was taken to the hospital for treatment. During her examination, it was discovered that she had contracted an infection. After much pressure, the minor revealed to her parents that the suspect had been having sex with her and his step-daughter. The parents immediately notified the Edo State Security Corps (ESSC), which promptly arrested the suspect. In a confession, Michael Ogungbemi attributed his actions to the devil. The ESSC Deputy Commander, Richard Balogun, confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect was apprehended following a tip-off and has been handed over to the police for prosecution.
