Kano's former governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has joined the African Democratic Congress, ADC, prompting a call to unity from former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Obi, who visited Kano on Monday at Kwankwaso's invitation, described the former governor as an elder brother and noted that the visit coincided with Kwankwaso's decision to join the ADC.

The former presidential candidate believes Kwankwaso's move is a significant development in efforts to rebuild Nigeria's democracy.

He stressed the need for opposition parties and well-meaning Nigerians to set aside their differences and unite in addressing the country's challenges.

Obi stated that the task ahead is not just about winning elections but about rebuilding institutions, restoring confidence in governance, and securing a better future for Nigerians.
