Labour Party will hold its presidential primary on April 28, 2026, at the International Conference Centre in Umuahia, Abia State. The date was confirmed in a letter sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by the party's Interim National Chairman, Sen. Nenadi Usman, and made public on Friday in Abuja. The party's electoral calendar includes ward congresses on April 23, Local Government Area congresses on April 24, and state congresses on April 25. The national convention, where the presidential candidate will be selected, follows on April 28.

The schedule was communicated in line with Section 82(1) of the Electoral Act, 2022 (as amended), INEC's regulations, and Sections 223(1) and (2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), which require parties to notify the electoral body of major internal events. Sen. Usman noted the earlier postponement of the party's activities was to allow more members to participate, particularly after delays in the digital membership registration process. She asked INEC to alert its state offices to facilitate monitoring. The party reaffirmed its commitment to Nigeria's democratic process.
