DSS operatives have arrested 25-year-old Nafisa Usman for allegedly supplying ammunition to bandits in the North-West. Over 200 rounds were recovered from her on Wednesday at a motor park in Kano, where she had arrived from Lafia, Nasarawa State, en route to Kankara in Katsina State. The consignment was suspected to be destined for bandit groups operating in forest areas across the region. According to security sources speaking to AIT, the arrest followed actionable intelligence that disrupted the delivery before completion. Usman allegedly confessed to participating in the illicit trade for two months, claiming she facilitated transactions worth about N5 million. She named an individual called "Teso" as her supplier, who reportedly works with a soldier stationed in Lafia. Usman also stated she supplied ammunition to several individuals, including a bandit leader known as Mallam Haruna. The DSS described the operation as a major breakthrough in efforts to dismantle networks fueling insecurity in the North-West. Security agencies are now hunting other members of the syndicate.
