Troops from the Nigerian Army's Bravo Company, 159 Battalion, arrested 13 individuals suspected of supporting Boko Haram during a stop-and-search operation in Kanama, Borno State. The arrest occurred at about 7:00 p.m. on April 2 as the suspects, 12 men and one woman, were travelling in a Toyota pickup towards Dekwa. Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the operation in a post on X on Friday. Two of the male suspects were found with gunshot wounds sustained during a military encounter with suspected terrorists along the Usmadi axis the previous day. They were allegedly transporting supplies to a Boko Haram camp in Dekwa when the clash occurred. A search of the vehicle yielded eight torchlight mobile phones, which authorities believe could provide valuable intelligence. The suspects and the vehicle have been taken into military custody and are expected to be transferred to higher authorities for further interrogation.
