The All Progressives Congress (APC) has restarted its electronic membership registration across Nigeria. Party National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka announced the development in a statement released Wednesday in Abuja. The exercise is now live in all wards and designated centres nationwide.

Existing members are urged to validate their membership, while new applicants are invited to register. All registrants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).

According to the statement, the e-registration aims to digitize the party's membership database, improve data accuracy, and support internal decision-making. It is also intended to promote transparency and modernize the party's organizational structure.

💡 NaijaBuzz Take

A functioning digital membership system should have been in place years ago, not reintroduced as news. With Felix Morka confirming the NIN requirement, the APC is aligning itself with national identity protocols, but the real test is whether this translates to broader inclusivity or just digitizes existing bottlenecks. For Nigerian voters, this move may mean more efficient party operations, but only if access barriers in rural areas are addressed. A digital register alone changes nothing if it serves gatekeepers rather than members.
