The council chairmen of the Enugu North Senatorial District have reaffirmed their support for Governor Peter Mbah's reelection in the 2027 general elections. The chairmen cited Governor Mbah's creditable performance in rebuilding infrastructure, improving security, and promoting socio-economic development in Enugu State.
Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze, chairman of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, spoke on behalf of the council chairmen at the inauguration of the Peter Mbah Progressive Movement, Enugu North District, on 17 March in Enugu. As the deputy chairman of the Association of Local Governments in Nigeria (ALGON), Enugu State chapter, Mr Ukwueze highlighted the governor's administration's achievements.
The Enugu North Senatorial District, also known as the Nsukka zone, has seen significant improvements under Governor Mbah's leadership. Mr Ukwueze noted that the governor's commitment to the zone's development has earned him the support of the people.
The Peter Mbah Progressive Movement aims to mobilise the people for the governor's reelection. The group's inauguration at the International Conference Centre in Enugu was attended by dignitaries, including the Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Chidiebere Onyia, who is the group's convener and grand patron.
