Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Osun State, has dismissed claims that President Bola Tinubu is responsible for the internal crisis in the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Speaking with journalists on Monday in Osogbo, Oyintiloye called the allegations "disturbing" and urged the ADC leadership to stop blaming Tinubu for its internal problems. He stated that the President is a true democrat who does not need to destabilise any political party to win re-election in 2027.
Oyintiloye noted that Tinubu is neither a court nor a party to the litigation within the ADC, and therefore cannot be held responsible for the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) decision not to recognise any faction of the party until court cases are resolved. He stressed that the INEC stance followed a court ruling, not executive interference. The APC chieftain pointed out that Nigeria has 21 registered political parties, all of which are expected to participate in the 2027 general elections. He urged opposition parties to focus on resolving their internal disputes instead of spreading unfounded narratives about electoral dominance.
Olatunbosun Oyintiloye's defence of President Tinubu exposes how deeply APC loyalists are committed to shielding the presidency from blame, regardless of context. With 21 registered parties on paper but growing concerns over political space, Nigerians are left to question the real balance of power ahead of 2027. The insistence that all is fair in play rings hollow when only a few parties have meaningful access to national discourse.
