The Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has presented brand-new Honda Accord vehicles to the 17 Local Government chairmen of the All Progressives Congress in the state.
The vehicles were handed over on Monday at the party’s state secretariat in Damaturu.
The presentation was carried out on behalf of the governor by the Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Gubana, who said the initiative was designed to support party operations and strengthen grassroots mobilisation across the 17 local government areas of the state.
Gubana urged the beneficiaries to make effective use of the vehicles and remain committed to unity within the party.
“The vehicles are meant to support your activities and help you mobilise support for the party’s policies and programmes in your respective local governments,” he said.
He also advised the chairmen to avoid actions that could create division, stressing the importance of unity among party supporters and vigilance against acts of political betrayal.
The deputy governor further emphasised the need for strict adherence to party principles and guidelines.
“Local government party chairmen must comply with APC guidelines and maintain close collaboration with key state stakeholders in all their activities,” he added.
Earlier, the state chairman of the APC, Muhammad Gadaka, expressed appreciation to the governor for the gesture and urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate through dedication and hard work.
“We are grateful to the governor for this generous gesture. The beneficiaries must reciprocate by remaining committed to the success of the party,” he said.
In addition to the vehicles, the governor also donated Sallah clothes and wrappers to 37 members of the state party executive.
Meanwhile, the Secretary to the Yobe State Government, Baba Malam Wali, donated N2 million to the chairmen to enable them to purchase fuel for the vehicles.
