Tiger Woods, a 15-time major champion, has been charged with driving under the influence after a car crash in Florida. The incident occurred on Friday when Woods, 50, attempted to overtake a pressure cleaner truck on Beach Road in Jupiter Island. His Land Rover rolled after clipping the truck, and Woods had to crawl out of the passenger side of his vehicle.
Woods passed a breathalyser test after the crash but refused a urine test. No injuries were sustained in the incident. The Martin County Sheriff's Office charged Woods with driving under the influence, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test. He was taken to the Martin County jail and will remain there for eight hours before being released on bond.
A breathalyser test showed Woods had triple zeros, indicating no alcohol was present in his system. However, the sheriff's office suspects that Woods may have been impaired by something else at the time of the crash. Woods has been cooperative but was trying not to incriminate himself, according to Sheriff John Budensiek.
The incident raises questions about Tiger Woods' well-being and ability to drive safely, especially given his history of injuries and surgeries. Woods' refusal to take a urine test may have implications for his case, but it's unclear what he was impaired by at the time of the crash. As one of the world's most renowned golfers, Woods' reputation is at stake, and this incident will likely have a significant impact on his career.
