VIDEO: Sanwo-Olu, Hamzat lead clean-up exercise in Mushin, warn residents against littering
The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, alongside his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, on Saturday participated in a community clean-up exercise at Olosha in Idi-Oro, Mushin, marking the symbolic flag-off of the state’s monthly environmental sanitation exercise.
In a video shared by TVC News on X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, showing the governor and his deputy participating in the sanitation exercise alongside environmental workers.
The governor and his deputy joined sanitation workers and residents of the community in clearing refuse as part of efforts by the state government to promote environmental cleanliness and improve public hygiene across the state.
“See how dirty your environment is, we ought to remember where we are coming from, check your surroundings and see how it looks and yet we are living there, it’s not nice”
The exercise with officials of the Lagos State Government, environmental workers and members of the community who turned out to support the sanitation campaign aimed at ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for residents.
Speaking during the exercise, Sanwo-Olu warned residents against indiscriminate dumping of refuse and other activities that contribute to environmental pollution in the state.
He urged residents to take responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean and to support LAWMA by disposing of waste properly and participating actively in sanitation exercises.
“The LAWMA comes here every day and still meets dirt littered around the street, it’s not good”
He then rounded up say they came to work and not for election purposes.
