Nigerian Army troops under 82 Division Garrison, alongside 103 Battalion and the Air Component, conducted clearance operations in Ajali Forest, Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State, targeting enclaves of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its alleged armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN). During the operation, troops recovered an anti-tank improvised explosive device (IED) after three failed detonation attempts, according to an operational report seen Tuesday in Abuja. An Explosive Ordnance Disposal team safely removed the IED. Bulldozers and chainsaws were deployed to clear the forest and restrict movement by criminal elements. In a separate raid in Adani, Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, troops acted on intelligence tracking ransom payments for a kidnapped victim. A suspect's brother was arrested at the scene, leading to the recovery of N2 million and a pump-action rifle from the suspect's residence. The suspect and items have been handed over to relevant authorities. The military confirmed all operations concluded without incident under Operation UDO KA.
