**President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Returns to Lagos After UK Visit**
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Lagos following a two-day official visit to the United Kingdom. The president, accompanied by his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, arrived early Friday at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, where they were received by top government officials and party leaders.
Among those present were Lagos State Deputy Governor Femi Hamzat, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, and the wife of the Lagos State governor, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu. The president's return to Lagos marks the end of his UK visit, which aimed to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
In related news, the president is expected to join Muslim faithful later in the day for Eid-el-Fitr prayers at the Dodan Barracks. On the occasion, Tinubu urged Muslims to carry forward the values of Ramadan into daily life. "We have a lot to draw from the lessons of Ramadan, especially at a time like this. We must continue to abide by the virtues of piety, selflessness, perseverance, kindness and compassion beyond this period," he said in his Eid message.
During his UK visit, Tinubu held talks with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at 10 Downing Street. The discussions resulted in a £746 million deal to refurbish key port infrastructure in Lagos. The president stated that the visit helped strengthen bilateral relations, with talks covering trade, the economy, climate change, and security.
Tinubu and his wife were also hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle. On the occasion, he emphasized shared values between Nigeria and the United Kingdom. "Our two nations share a vision of progress. Today, we continue that journey, committed to building a future rooted in partnership and common values," he said.
The UK visit, held from March 18 to 19, marks the first by a Nigerian leader to the UK in 37 years, underscoring renewed diplomatic engagement between both countries.
