President Tinubu has condemned the recent attacks in Jos, Plateau State, and Kahir village in Kaduna State, describing them as an affront to Nigeria's values. The attacks, which occurred in the dead of night, resulted in the killing and abduction of innocent citizens, including wedding guests.
Tinubu, in a statement, vowed that the perpetrators would not go unpunished, and he directed security agencies to intensify efforts to pursue them. He also cautioned sections of the media against spreading misinformation that could inflame tensions and put more lives at risk.
The president commended the efforts of Governors Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State and Uba Sani of Kaduna State in containing the situation and supporting rescue efforts. He also assured the people and governments of the two states of his support.
Tinubu urged security agencies to be more proactive in preventing such attacks by acting on early warning intelligence. He also called for public cooperation in maintaining peace and protecting lives and property.
