President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Benue State Governor Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia have gained backing from over 200 registered support groups in the state, according to King Samuel, National Director of the Renewed Interfaith Movement Nigeria. Samuel disclosed that the groups were formally mobilised under the Renewed Hope interfaith platform to campaign for the re-election of Tinubu and Alia in the 2027 general elections. The announcement was made ahead of a planned solidarity march in Makurdi, the state capital. The movement, which describes itself as a coalition of religious and community leaders, said the support groups span multiple local government areas. No exact date was given for the march. The movement's director, who also holds the title of National Director, emphasised the interfaith nature of the initiative, though specific religious affiliations of the groups were not detailed.
