Soldiers have successfully rescued a 28-year-old woman, Mrs Member Ityavber, who was kidnapped in Benue State. The rescue operation was carried out by troops of Operation Whirl Stroke in collaboration with the Benue Civil Protection Guard at Tse-Ubena village in Yooyo Council Ward of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area. The operation was prompted by reports of kidnapping activities in the area, and troops deployed from Tor-Donga conducted the rescue mission in conjunction with operatives of the Benue State Civil Protection Guard.
A thorough search was conducted by the troops, leading to the discovery of an abandoned suspected criminal hideout. The operation resulted in the arrest of two suspected armed herders at Mbapa and Mbabuande in Gwer West Local Government Area. The two suspects are currently in custody undergoing further investigation.
