**Breaking News: Police Clamp Down on Arms Fabrication, Drug Production in Akwa Ibom** In a significant operation, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command has detained two suspected individuals involved in arms fabrication and drug production in Uyo, the state capital. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, the operation was conducted under the command's ongoing Operation Zero Black Spots, aimed at dismantling criminal hideouts and networks across the state. Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives stormed a suspected criminal facility located at Idem Street, off Itu Road, Uyo, on Sunday at 9 pm. Initially, the operation was triggered by reports that illicit chin-chin snacks laced with Indian hemp were being produced and distributed from the location. However, upon raiding the premises, the police discovered that the facility was being used for more sinister activities, including the production of narcotic-laced food items and the fabrication of arms and ammunition. Police operatives found a stash of exhibits, including eight refilled cartridges, six empty expended cartridges, gunpowder, and various tools used for weapon fabrication. The list of seized items also includes a rifle butt, filing and cutting machines, saws, machetes, and a substance suspected to be cannabis sativa. The police are currently investigating the suspects and the seized items. This operation is a boost to efforts to combat crime and insecurity in Akwa Ibom State.
