2 brothers charged with assault in Ekiti
**Naija News: Ekiti Brothers in Court for Assault**
In a recent development in Ekiti State, two brothers, Bello Hussain and Bello Hassan, have been charged with conspiracy and assault at a Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti. The incident occurred on March 12, 2026, around 5pm in the state capital.
According to the prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, the brothers allegedly assaulted one Daodu Olumide Precious. Oriyomi explained that this offense is punishable under Sections 422 and 185 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
The defense team, led by Barrister Olarewaju Okpaleke, asked the court to grant the defendants bail, assuring the magistrate that they would not jump bail. The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, agreed to grant the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 each, with one surety in like sum.
