Police Arrest Three Over Suspected Human Parts, Rescue Kidnap Victim In Oyo
A dramatic turn of events unfolded in Oyo State as police arrested three suspects for unlawful possession and sale of suspected human parts in Ibadan. The suspects, Oyategbe Joseph, Alfa Onaolapo Taiwo, and Pastor Ayodele Taiwo, were apprehended in separate operations that showcased the police's commitment to public safety. The arrest followed a routine stop-and-search operation along the Adekile area of Agugu, where police officers intercepted an unregistered motorcycle and discovered a package containing suspected human intestines on one of the passengers. Further investigation led to the arrest of two alleged buyers, who confessed to purchasing the items. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
The police also confirmed the successful rescue of a kidnapped victim in Oyo after a coordinated operation involving multiple security agencies. The victim was abducted by gunmen who invaded a community, carted away mobile phones and two motorcycles, and fled into the surrounding bushes. A joint team comprising police operatives, Amotekun Corps, vigilantes, and local hunters tracked down the suspects, using geolocation tracking and intelligence-gathering strategies to locate them. The kidnappers were forced into disarray, allowing the victim to escape unhurt and reunite with his family.
The rescued victim has since been debriefed to assist ongoing investigations, while the suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
