The streets of Ibadan have just got a little safer, thanks to a swift police operation that has left six suspected armed robbers reeling. The group, allegedly involved in the notorious one-chance scam, was caught off guard at a hotel in the 7UP/Academy area. Residents, who had been tipped off about the suspects' suspicious activities, played a crucial role in exposing the gang's hideout.
The suspects, aged between 21 and 35, were reportedly using tricycles to rob unsuspecting members of the public. Authorities say they recovered several items linked to their activities, including 18 mobile phones, an ATM card, and a tricycle used for their operations. The police are still investigating the extent of the gang's involvement in terrorizing residents across Ibadan.
The Oyo State Police Command has assured the public that the suspects will be charged to court once the investigation is concluded. The operation is a testament to the power of community vigilance and the police's commitment to keeping the streets safe.
The one-chance scam has long been a thorn in the side of Ibadan residents, and it's heartening to see the police taking decisive action. The case highlights the importance of community involvement in keeping our cities safe, and it's a reminder that Afrobeats fans and Nollywood enthusiasts are not the only ones who can show their strength in numbers.
