Pillarcraft Unveils Solution to Ease Business Compliance With New Tax Regime
The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) e-invoicing framework is set to change the way businesses manage revenue, billing, and compliance. Pillarcraft Cloud Solutions has launched UsawaConnect, a platform designed to help Nigerian businesses comply with the new tax regime. Under the framework, invoices must be digitally validated, assigned unique identifiers, and transmitted through approved government systems. This shift marks a fundamental change in how businesses manage their finances, and many are not prepared for this transition.
The new system requires invoices to be digitally structured, validated, and submitted electronically before they are recognised as valid. Large taxpayers are expected to lead early adoption, while medium-sized businesses will come into scope from July 2026. Businesses that fail to prepare risk facing invoice rejection, delays in receiving payments, operational disruption, and increased exposure during tax audits.
UsawaConnect acts as a bridge between business systems and regulatory requirements, enabling organisations to continue using their existing accounting, ERP, or POS systems. The solution automatically generates compliant invoices and seamlessly transmits them to the NRS platform. This eliminates the need for complex internal system changes while ensuring full compliance.
Pillarcraft Cloud Solutions' Managing Director, Bayode Agbi, has sounded the alarm on the need for businesses to prepare for the e-invoicing framework. With the phased approach to implementation, large taxpayers are expected to lead the way, while medium-sized businesses will follow suit from July 2026. However, this transition will largely be driven by professionals such as accountants, tax practitioners, and technology consultants. The e-invoicing solution is not just a business tool but an enablement platform for these professionals. As Agbi noted, accountants and advisors will be at the center of this transition, and UsawaConnect enables them to deliver this efficiently while helping businesses stay compliant without disruption.
