Paris Jackson, the singer and songwriter, has finally broken her silence on the drama surrounding the upcoming biopic 'Michael', based on the life of her late father, Michael Jackson.
At a recent event in Los Angeles, the 25-year-old spoke to Entertainment Tonight about her current relationship with Colman Domingo, the actor who plays Michael Jackson's father, Joe Jackson, in the biopic. Recall that Paris had called out Domingo a few months ago on social media, accusing him of saying she and her brother Prince had been 'helpful' with the production of the movie, which she claimed was not true. Paris had stated that she gave her notes on the script but didn't receive any feedback, and therefore, she had moved on.
However, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal this week, Domingo revealed that he had messaged Paris on social media to clear the air. He claimed that his comment was taken out of context, and People magazine had since updated the story to reflect his true intentions. He also expressed his hope that Paris would eventually love the tribute paid to her father in the movie.
Paris has now spoken out, saying she appreciated Domingo's sentiment in trying to smooth things over. She also confirmed that they have conversed since the drama, and she wishes him and her cousin, Jafaar Jackson, who plays Michael in the movie, success and happiness.
When asked about her hopes for the movie, Paris expressed a desire for it to spread a message of love and light regarding her father's legacy. The biopic is set to premiere on April 24, and Paris has made it clear that she wants the focus to be on sharing her father's message of positivity and love, rather than controversy or negativity.
It appears that Paris and Domingo have put their differences aside, and she's now focusing on supporting her cousin's efforts to bring her father's story to the big screen.
