Ten suspected armed robbers, including three females, have been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command. The suspects were apprehended at their hideout located within the Genesis Hotel area, Challenge, Ibadan, following weeks of surveillance by operatives of the command. The arrested individuals are known for hijacking containers at gunpoint and diverting valuable goods across state lines.
The recovered exhibits are valued at approximately N100 million, consisting of 40 units of air conditioners, 10 washing machines, one electric motorcycle, assorted creams, seven cutting machines, fifteen packs of LED lights, 25 packs of furniture gum, numerous trailer spare parts, women's hair relaxers, wigs, chin-chin, furniture, and painters' materials.
The operation led to the interception of the notorious armed robbery syndicate, resulting in the arrest of the 10 suspects at the scene. The police command's efforts have brought an end to the gang's activities, which had been causing significant disruption and loss to the community.
